ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington head baseball coach Jeff Curtis has announced the team's season opener against No. 5 Texas scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10 has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. at Disch-Falk Field.
The postponement marks the third straight year that a game between the two school's has been either cancelled or postponed. Last year, the teams were set to play a three-game weekend series on Friday-Sunday, but the weather forced the teams to play a doubleheader on Sunday and one game on Monday. In 2001, the game was cancelled due to inclement weather and no make-up date was set.
The Mavericks will open up the 2004 campaign on Feb. 13-15 when they travel to New Orleans, La. to take on No. 10 Tulane. The game's are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. All three games will be played at Turchin Stadium.
