ARLINGTON, Texas - Ashley Van Antwerp slammed a career high 19 kills and Diane Seymour earned her first victory as head coach as the Mavericks of Texas-Arlington dropped Baylor in a five-game thriller (23-30, 31-29, 23-30, 30-28, 17-15) Wednesday evening at Texas Hall. The Bears had defeated UTA in the last six meetings. Caley Smith was the only Maverick to join Van Antwerp in double figure kills, recording her first double-double of the year with 15 kills and 13 digs. Ashley Smith and freshman Morgan Rogers led the defensive charge with 19 digs a piece while Heather Dunn chipped in 16. Texas-Arlington returns to action Friday as it kicks off day one action of the Western New York Invitational at Canisius. -utamavs.com-
