Box Score

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Junior center Lacy Mingee knocked down a 15-foot jumper with .7 seconds remaining to give Texas-San Antonio a come-from-behind 48-46 win over league leader Texas-Arlington in Southland Conference women's basketball Saturday afternoon.

The Mavericks (16-9, 11-3) can clinch a share of their first conference championship with wins over Texas State and Nicholls State next week. UTSA improves to 15-10 overall and 9-5 in the SLC.

UTA's Tamesha Graves took a three-quarter court pass and made a 20-foot jumper but the buzzer sounded before the shot got off and was disallowed.

UTA led much of the game, but UTSA took its first lead of the night with a Rachelle Parks jumper with 5:03 to play in the game.

UTA was led in scoring by Rola Ogunoye with 13 points. Terra Wallace canned 12 points and Tabitha Wesley added 10. UTSA got 13 points from Mingee, 12 by Parks and Nicole Dunson added 10.

UTA built a 16-9 lead in the first nine minutes of the game but did not score for the 6:57 of the game as UTSA tied the game at 16-16 on a three-point play by Mingee with 6:27 to play in the first half. Neither led by more than four points the rest of the game as there were five ties in the second half.

MAV NOTES: Ogunoye needs just 28 points to move into second place on the all-time scoring list. She has 1,550 career points and trails Natasha Johnson (1,695) and Carolyn Smith (1,567)... Wesley's 55 three-pointers this season is the fourth best in school history and needs 12 to surpass leader LaToya Lewis' 67.
