ALLEN, Texas – The UT Arlington women's basketball program will be represented at inaugural United Athletic Conference Basketball Media Days by head coach Shereka Wright and juniors Amiyah Reynolds and Faith Carson. UAC Basketball Media Days will be held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas on Thursday, Sept. 24. All interviews with ESPN+ will air Tuesday, October 27 at 5 p.m. CT as part of a season preview show leading into the first week of the season.

The 2026-27 season marks a new chapter for the Lady Mavericks as UTA begins its first season competing in the United Athletic Conference. Wright enters her seventh season at the helm of the program after taking over in 2020, bring a career record of 94-83 (.531) into the campaign.
 
A native of Copperas Cove, Texas, Wright had helped establish UTA as a consistence presence on the conference level while guiding the Mavericks to a 2022 Sun Belt Tournament Championship and the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007. Prior to joining UTA, Wright spent time on the coaching staffs at Texas Tech, Alabama and Vanderbilt. She also enjoyed a decorated playing career at Purdue (2000-2004), where she became the program's only three-time All-American before being inducted into the Purdue Athletics Hall of Fame.
 
The Lady Mavs return junior Amiyah Reynolds, one of two returning players from last season, while welcoming a revamped roster that includes newcomer Faith Carson for the 2026-27 campaign.
 
Reynolds enters her second season with the Lady Mavericks after transferring from Purdue prior to the 2025-26 campaign. Last season, the South, Bend, Indiana native appeared in collegiate games between Purdue and UTA, totaling 129 points, 130 rebounds, 67 assists, 34 steals and 22 blocks. 
 
Reynolds produced several notable performances throughout her first season in Arlington, including a season-high 10 points against Utah Tech and a season-best eight rebounds against Rice. She also dished out a season-best four assists on three occasions and recorded multiple steals in five games.
 
Carson joins the Lady Mavs for her first season in Arlington after beginning her collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Grand Canyon. The Buchanan, Michigan, native was a four-time All-Conference selection and Conference MVP and finished her high school career with more than 1,000 points.
 
As a junior at Grand Canyon in 2025-26, Carson appeared in 18 games, making three starts and averaging 2.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. She shot 41.5 percent from the floor and pulled down 36 rebounds, including 12 offensive boards. Carson also recorded a season-high seven points against San Jose State and added six points, six rebounds and two blocks in 11 minutes against New Mexico.
 
With a new conference and a revamped roster ahead, the Lady Mavericks will embrace the challenges of the 2026-27 campaign with a "Grit in the Grind" mentality, working through the preseason to establish their new identity and build toward the start of the season.
