CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - After dropping the doubles point, Texas-Arlington controlled singles play to hand New Orleans a 4-2 loss on day two of the HEB Invitational in Corpus Chrisi.
Niels Buksik and Ian Vazquez paired for the lone Mavericks doubles win, an 8-1 decision at No. 3.
Sandy Farquharson got things started with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Saif Ali at the top singles flight. Ian Vazquez and Felipe Acosta each followed with straight set victories at No.5 and 6, respectively. Freshman Alberto Agis pushed his win streak to seven matches and remained undefeated at No. 4 singles after dropping Julien DeLamettrie 7-5, 6-3.
UTA will continue action Sunday against Wichita State.
