ARLINGTON, Texas - Former Texas-Arlington teammates Ryan Roberts and Daniel Ortmeier teamed up to lead the Mavericks offense during the 2002 season. Now the two will team up again as members of the Northern Division Team for the Eastern League (Double A) All-Star Game to be played at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine on July 13.

Roberts, who was named the 2002 SLC Newcomer of the Year and 2003 Hitter and Player of the Year, was selected by the fans after hitting .273 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs in 34 games. for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Roberts was promoted to Double A after hitting .287 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs in 42 games for the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League (High Class A).

Ortmeier, a 2002 First Team all-SLC selection and third-round pick of the San Francisco Giants, was named to the All-Star Team after hitting .264 with 14 home runs and 46 RBIs for the Norwich Navigators.
