Two teams looking to turn their season around meet Monday as the UT Arlington Mavericks and UC-Riverside Highlanders meet for the first time. Both teams enter the game on a four-game road losing streak. UCR is returning to the UCR Student Recreation Center for the first time in month, since then, they have lost to San Diego State (79-45), SE Missouri (78-75), UCLA (61-38) and Montana (72-65).
Meanwhile, UTA has dropped road games to Texas-Pan American, Illinois State, Western Illinois and Oklahoma.
Junior center Jermaine Griffin leads the nation in field goal percentage at 72.7% (40 of 55).
Sophomore guard Brandon Long has averaged 19.0 points per game the last three games, including a game and career-high 22 points in an 89-60 loss at OU on Saturday.
Sophomore swingman Terrell Henry got his first start of his career at Oklahoma.
UT Arlington will conclude a season-long six-game road swing at Texas Southern on Wednesday.
