ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas-Arlington men's defeated Lamar, 7-0, Sunday afternoon in a Southland Conference match at the UTA Tennis Center.

Texas-Arlington (4-2, 2-0 SLC) won all six singles matches and also defeated Lamar (3-10, 0-2 SLC) in all three doubles matches.

Sophomore Diego Mattar, playing at the number one singles position for the first time this season, cam back from a first-set loss to defeat Filip Kanczula, 3-6, 6-2, 15-13. Seniors Ian Vazquez and Niels Buksik were equally impressive as they didn't lose a single game. Vazquez bested Brett Stricker, 6-0, 6-0, at number five singles, while Buksik took down Tyler Cobb by the same score at number six singles.

The Mavericks will be back in action Friday when they host Columbia. First-serve is set for 1 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
