Lettered one season at Tyler Junior College for John Patterson...Helped lead the Apaches to a runner-up spot at the NJCAA National Championship his sophomore season...named second-team all-America in both singles and doubles...Also played his freshman season at Louisville, where he compiled a 9-1 record during the fall 2003.

Born April 19, 1984, in Mexico City, Mexico...Son of Javier Herrera, Sr. and Malv Eguiluz...Has two sisters who played collegiate tennis at LSU, Claudia and Leticia...Claudia was selected as LSU[apos]s Female Athlete of the Year in 1991...His cousin, Luis was ranked #47 on the ATP Tour at one time...A management information systems major at UTA.
