ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas-Arlington men's tennis team defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 4-3, Tuesday in Southland Conference play.

Texas-Arlington (8-5, 3-0 SLC) jumped to an early 1-0 lead, after taking two of the three doubles matches.

In singles play, SE Louisiana (11-2, 5-1 SLC) was able to win at the number three position and two three-set matches at the number five and six positions, but the Mavericks were able to prevail as sophomore Diego Mattar and senior Sandy Farquharson were able to win at the number one and two positions and sophomore Alberto Agis defeated Ondrej Krivka, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, to clinch the match for Texas-Arlington..

The Mavericks will be back in action Thursday, when they travel to take on Baylor. First-serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
