Former UT Arlington tennis player Daniel Omana scored a pair of tournament wins in the month of July, winning the ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit event at the UT Arlington Tennis Center Sunday.

Omana defeated University of Texas player Josh Zavala, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 to win the ITA event. Earlier, Omana defeated Texas A&M's Matthew Bain 4-6 , 6-3, 8-1 before Bain withdrew from the match.

Sophomore-to-be, Dmitry Minkin, advanced to the semifinals before losing to Zavala, 6-2, 6-4.

At the Fort Worth Adult Major Zone tournament, the third-seed Omana defeated TCU standout Scott Eddins, 6-4, 7-6 in the finals on July 10. Minkin lost to Eddins, a top-50 ranked player in Division I men's tennis, 7-6, 7-6, in one semifinal while Omana knocked off Colin Foster, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6.
