ARLINGTON, Tx. - UT Arlington men's basketball head coach Scott Cross announced today that he has promoted assistant coach Reggie Brown to associate head coach of the program.
"Reggie has been my `right hand man' for the last three years and he is deserving of this recognition," said Cross. "He had as much to do with our success last year as anyone. He has been instrumental in the recruiting process of many of the players that helped us advance to the NCAA Tournament and we are fortunate to have him on our team."
"I want to thank Coach Cross and athletic director Pete Carlon for this opportunity," said Brown. "I have been a member of the UTA family for many years and have enjoyed my time here and look forward to many great things for our program in the future."
Brown, who played for the Mavericks from 1993-97, is in his seventh season as an assistant coach at his alma mater. His responsibilities for the team include scouting, recruiting, game-day duties and student-athlete academic progress.
"Reggie has been in the trenches with me over the years and his loyalty to our program and UTA has been tremendous," added Cross. "We were teammates and assistants together, and I hope we will continue to win many more games as members of the UTA men's basketball staff."
