Arlington, Texas - Tandem Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala continued to breeze by their opponents, as they captured two victories in doubles' action and advanced to the final round at the Baylor HEB Invitational.
In the quarterfinals, Srkala and Hamon handed Tulsa's Albert Jou and James Seagraves a 9-8 (4) setback and notched an 8-6 victory over James Langford and David Pace of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The duo will face-off against Jim Brouleau and Gustave Diep of New Mexico State tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the finals.
In singles' action, Srkala continued to add victories to his belt, as he collected a hard-fought 6-7(1), 6-1, and 1-0(9) win over Ethan Horn of Texas Tech in the third round and handed Eric Olsen of TCU a 6-2, 6-1 setback. Srkala advanced to the finals and will match-up against Wichita State's Scott McCormick at 8:30 a.m.
Hamon dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Micahel Jung of Alabama and Jason Lateko suffered a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Tulsa's Rusty Turpin.
David Subirats dropped a hard-fought 7-6(3), 2-6, and 1-0(6) decision to McCormick of Wichita State in the consolation singles' bracket.
The Mavericks will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the Baylor HEB Invitational in Waco, Texas.
