HOUSTON, Tx. - A number of athletes on the UT Arlington track and field teams posted solid times on the second day of the Houston Indoor Invitational.
Adolphus Jones finished second in the heptathlon with a score of 4,969. He was third in the long jump and fourth in the shot put on the second day of the event.
The Mavericks placed second and fourth in the 60 meter dash as Cordero Gray was second (6.78) and Jarid Vaughan fourth (6.83). Idilio Campos continued his strong indoor season with a second place finish in the mile run in a time of 4:15.21.
UTA also continued to place well in the pole vault as Jarid Tuel finished third with a vault of 4.90 meters (16-00.75) and Wade Hayes was sixth at 4.75 meters (15-07.00).
The UTA 4x400 relay team was also second in a time of 3:18.47.
Darren Rous was second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.36 while Andrew Duncan finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 2.04 meters (6-08.25 feet). Timothy Thompson was sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.13.
On the women's side, Jasmine Walls continued to run well with a third place finish in the 200 meters (24.97) and a fourth in the 60 meters (7.60).
Lydia Chebii posted her second consecutive top 10 finish with a fourth place finish in the 5,000 meters (18:19.19).
Antonia Hopkins had a pair of top 10 finishes as she was eighth in the 200 meters (25.41) and 10th in the 400 meters (58.80).
Amanda McMahon was eighth in the 3,000 meters (10:21.82) while the women's 4x400 relay team was ninth with a time of 4:00.67.
