UT ARLINGTON GAME NOTES - Dec. 31, 2010 at Arkansas
The UT Arlington men's basketball team finishes off 2010 with a New Year's Eve game at Arkansas. The Mavericks come into the game 5-6 after losing at No. 3 Kansas 82-57 Wednesday.
This game is the final one of six consecutive road games for the Mavericks. They return to Texas Hall for the first time since Nov. 27 next Wednesday (Jan. 5) when they host Houston Baptist. UTA will also be looking to snap its season-high five-game losing streak Friday.
LaMarcus Reed leads the Mavericks in scoring at 14.6 points per game while Fort Worth native Brandon Edwards is the team's top rebounder at 6.5 per game. Bo Ingram scored a career-high 20 points at Kansas and is now second on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game.
Arkansas is 9-2 in 2010-11 and is led in scoring by Rotnei Clarke at 15.5 points per game. Delvon Johnson is the only other Razorback in double figures at 10.1 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounding at 8.7 per game.
Arkansas has won all five of the previous games in the series with the last meeting coming in 1999 when the Mavs lost 102-95 in overtime in Fayetteville. This will be just the second New Year's Eve game in UTA history as they defeated Hardin-Simmons 81-68 on Dec. 31, 1988.
