Day One Results 
ARLINGTON, Texas - During Friday afternoon it wouldn't of been out of reach to think the athletes would soon need to find snorkels.
That's how bad the weather was at the first day of the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships at Maverick Stadium. Heavy thunderstorms rolled into Arlington early afternoon and forced the first event to start at 4:30 p.m.
The events were completed however before the day was over. In the women's Heptathlon Kimberly Strong and Raquel Kilgore competed on the first day of the event. At the end of the day Strong was in 12th place and Kilgore in 17th.
The events in the Heptathlon on the first day were there 100 meter hurdles, the high jump, the shot put and the 200 meter dash.
Jerono Patrober finished sixth in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 36:56. Kilgore also competed in the Javelin throw, finishing 24th with a best distance of 31 meters. Ivan Storic finished fourth in the Javelin throw with a best distance of 61.29 meters.
Day two of the meet starts Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the 110 meter hurdles for the men. Day two will also include the preliminary sprints, featuring All-Americans Cordero Gray and Jasmine Walls. Tickets available at the Maverick Stadium box office.
