ARLINGTON, Tex. - The UT Arlington softball team hammered the University of North Texas by a score of 12-2 on Thursday evening at Allan Saxe Field.
The win marked their largest margin of victory during the fall season, and their record now stands at 6-0-1.
"I thought we played really well. We hit the ball hard and scored quite a few runs," head coach Debbie Hedrick said. "Our pitchers threw the ball very well also. We came out with a lot of energy, and I also got another chance to see everybody in different situations."
Stephanie Gonzalez had multiple hits and brought in some RBI's, and Erica LeFlore connected on a home run and a double in the blowout.
Callie Collins and Teri Lyles split duty at pitcher and gave up a combined two earned runs in the game.
The Mavericks play again Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they host McClennan College at Allan Saxe Field. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
