The UT Arlington men's basketball team should have enjoyed their Christmas break, but it will be back to the floor Thursday night as they play at UT Pan American.
The Mavericks returned from the Athletes in Action Classic with a 2-1 record after a last second victory over Kent State and a win over Saint Peter's.
Those victories put the Mavericks record at 6-5 heading into this game, which will be the last one before conference play starts on Jan. 4.
LaMarcus Reed and Bo Ingram led the Mavericks at the tournament as each was named to the all-tournament team. Both of them also received conference player of the week honors from the league and independent publications.
Reed leads the team at 14.2 points per game while Ingram's 19.3 points per game average in Utah puts him at 12.6 ppg. Meanwhile, Jordan Reves averaged 10.3 points per game in Utah and also leads the team in rebounding at 6.5 a contest.
This will be the second meeting of the year between the schools as the Mavericks won 92-60 in Arlington on Nov. 28. UTA won the last meeting in Edinburg three years ago.
Jared Maree leads the Broncs in scoring at 14.9 points per game. UTPA is 4-10 on the season but 4-2 at home.
As always the game can be heard in the Metroplex on KVCE (1160 AM) or kvceradio.com.
