Final Stats
Conway, Ark. - Courtney Enocksen's three-run homer in the first inning helped the Mavericks to a 3-2 victory Sunday afternoon at the Farris Field in Conway, AR. UT Arlington won the series and improved its overall record to 20-12 overall and 7-2 in league action.
True freshman Callie Collins improved her overall record to 12-3 in the circle and recorded her 10th complete game of the season. Collins allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out four in game three.
Collins finished the series with a 2-0 record which included a 0.74 ERA in 19 innings pitched. She also racked up 11 strikeouts and held her opponents to a .221 batting average.
Enocksen also had a great series at the plate. The junior finished a .400 batting average, going 4-for-10 which included a pair of home runs, a double, five RBI and two runs scored.
The Kingwood, Texas native gave the Mavericks an early 3-0 lead in the first inning when she connected on a three-run bomb to right center. The homer was Enocksen's second of the series.
UCA's Preslie Long made it a 3-1 game in the third when she ripped a shot over the left field wall. The Sugar Bears added a solo run in the seventh on a double steal to make it 3-2 but the Mavericks kept their composure and made the final out of the game.
Senior Rebecca Collom also finished with a pair of hits, going 2-for-3 with a walk.
UT Arlington returns to Allan Saxe Field for a conference series against Nicholls State beginning with a double-header on Saturday, March 26. Game times are set for 1 and 3 p.m.
