Arlington, Texas - UT Arlington head softball coach Debbie Hedrick announced the addition of Rone Robinson to her coaching staff.
"Rone is a great addition to our staff here at UTA," said Hedrick. "He has a strong work ethic and has a lot of contacts in the softball community. He has a passion for the game and works well with young athletes. I'm looking forward to working with him."
Robinson will serve as the Mavericks hitting coach and work with the infield and outfielders.
Prior to coming to UTA, Robinson served as the assistant coach at the University of Texas at Dallas the last two years. Robinson also served as an assistant at North Texas during the 2008-2009 season.

The newly-named assistant coach was a two-year letter winner for the Ragin' Cajuns baseball team as a shortstop and centerfielder from 1993-94. He was a two-sport star, also lettering with the football team from 1989-93. He served as captain during his senior season in 1993, helping lead his team to a co-conference championship.
He continued his baseball career with the Carson Crawdads, a semi-professional team in Los Angeles, Calif. He also served as an assistant coach with the team, where he oversaw and ran infield and outfield practices and recruiting functions. Robinson was voted Newcomer of the Year and named to two All-Star games.
Rone resides in Grapvine Tx. with his wife Kimberly and sons Devin and Roman.
