ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's volleyball fell to the UTSA Roadrunners in a 3-0 sweep Thursday night at College Park Center.
The Mavericks fall to 8-18 overall and 4-10 in conference play.
The Mavericks started off with high energy against the Roadrunners and were tied 3-3 early, but UTSA pulled ahead. Head coach Diane Seymour was able to get her new-found Rekieta-Koch combo into the match, but the Mavs dropped the set, 25-17.
UT Arlington grabbed the first two points of the match, which UTSA answered back with three 3-0 runs. The team battled back to get within 4 at 9-13. The Roadrunners picked up seven in a row and the Mavs answered back with five of their own. A timeout talk gave UTSA what they needed to three points and win the set, 25-19
The Mavericks lead 11-7 early in the third set in an attempt to avoid the sweep. The roadrunners continued to push and took the set, 25-18, along with the 3-0 sweep.
UT Arlington will be back on the court Saturday at 2 p.m. at College Park Center to take on the Bobcats of Texas State.
