ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will be assisting the United States Marine Corps in their annual Toys for Tots program prior to the men's basketball game on Thursday, Dec. 13 at the College Park Center.
Fans will receive a free ticket for the game for every new toy they bring that night. Tipoff for that evening's game against Houston Baptist is 7 p.m.
"Our department is excited to have the Marine Corps and their Toys for Tots program at our game next week," said UT Arlington senior associate athletic director Gregg Elkin. "We look forward to filling their donation box before the game and hope that fans who already have tickets will also bring a toy to donate to this worthy cause."
A drop-off site will be set up in front of the College Park Center Box Office and fans can immediately pick up their ticket for the game following their donation.
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of the program is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
Tickets can be purchased for the game in advance by going to utatickets.com or by calling 817.272.9595 or visiting the College Park Center Box Office during normal business hours.
