"Two really tough matches," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "Even though we did not get the results we wanted, we take away hard-fought battles which will help us the rest of the way."
The Mavericks picked up two victories in singles against the Wildcats. No. 3 Verena Scott defeated Ana Gomez Aleman in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. No. 4 Giada D'ortona down Marketa Trousilova 6-4, 6-4.
