Arlington, Texas - The Mavericks fell short in the second half and fell 59-54 to Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday night at College Park Center.
"We just missed some key shots down the stretch. We had turnovers but I was proud of the effort we gave out on the court," UT Arlington head coach Samantha Morrow said.
Kiara Parker and Chauntandra Williams were the leading scorers for the Mavericks with nine points each. Bianca Sauls also had a solid game with seven points and eight rebounds.
The two teams split the season series each winning at the opposing team's court. The Ladyjacks improve to 7-4 in conference while the Mavericks fall to 3-8.
SFA guard Tammara Marion led all scorers with 14 points. Marion is currently ranked sixth in conference in scoring.
The Mavericks travel to Hammond, La. to take on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions Saturday at 3 p.m.
