ATHENS, Ga. - The UT Arlington men's golf team is 12th after Friday's second round of the NCAA Regionals, hosted by the University of Georgia. The Mavericks are at 19-over-587 going into Saturday's final round.
Paul McConnell leads the UTA contingent with a two-round total of 1-over-143 and is tied for 19th in the individual standings. He shot a plus-2 73 on Friday at the University of George Golf Course.
Cameron Hollek (T43) has a total of 146. Hunter Brown (T51, 147), Jamey Taylor (T63, 152) and Pierre Carlsson (67, 153) round out the Mavericks' fivesome.
Alabama leads the 13-team field with a 23-under-par 545. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. The Mavericks are 12 shots back of fifth-place New Mexico.
The NCAA finals will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
