LAS CRUCES, New Mexico-The UT Arlington men's tennis team defeated Northern Arizona 4-3 in a close battle.
The Mavericks fell behind early after losing the doubles point at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to head into singles down 1-0.
Northern Arizona won two single matches, but UTA took charge picking up four wins to take the match 4-3.
Soren Goritzka, Carlos Arbiza, Marek Pesicka and Stefan Williams each won their single matches.
The Mavericks face New Mexico State for their first Western Athletic Conference match of the season Sunday, March 3 at 11 a.m.
