Final Stats

ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's basketball lost its sixth straight Sun Belt Conference game of the season Wednesday night, falling 86-62 to Troy at College Park Center.

"We just stopped scoring even though we were getting great looks," UT Arlington coach Krista Gerlich said. "We missed a lot of layup. We had good energy and we missed some easy shots and that got to us."

Senior Desherra Nwanguma led the Mavericks with her third double-double of the season. The center scored 20 points while grabbing 15 rebounds.

The Mavericks (1-16, 0-6 SBC) got out to an early 7-0 lead, but the Trojans rallied to take a 16-15 lead after Joanna Harden knocked down a 3-pointer. Troy went on a 6-0 run as the Mavericks struggled to score. UTA shot 16 percent from the floor in the first half. UT Arlington headed into the locker room down 46-29 at the half.

After scoring just four points in the first half, Nwanguma was 8-13 from the floor in the second half scoring 16 points.

The Mavericks are back on the court Saturday at 5 p.m. at College Park Center as they host South Alabama. The UTA men face South Alabama following the women's game at 7:30.
