ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington baseball looks for its first win on the road against Baylor on Tuesday.
The Mavericks (0-3) are looking to bounce back from three straight losses at the UTA Invitational over the weekend. UT Arlington fell to Stephen F. Austin (14-4), Incarnate Word (4-1) and No. 18 Oklahoma State (4-3) to start the 2014 season. The Mavs have not begun a season 0-3 since falling at Houston in a three-game series to start the 2011 campaign.

MAVS ON A ROLL: Senior Peter Cuomo batted .500 in all three games over the weekend and now leads the Mavericks in batting average (.500), slugging percentage (.500) and hits (5). Sophomore Darien McLemore and junior Derek Miller have the only extra base hits for the Mavs in 2014, each with a double. Cuomo, senior Greg McCall, McLemore and senior Matt Shortall currently own three-game hitting streaks, while Miller is on a two-game hitting streak.
All-TIME AGAINST BAYLOR: The Mavs trail the all-time series against Baylor 82-30 and fell 6-4 on April 30, 2013 in Arlington in the last meeting.
THIRD YEAR, THIRD CONFERENCE: The Mavericks baseball team will be in their third conference in as many years with the move to the Sun Belt Conference. UTA moved from the Southland Conference in 2012 to the Western Athletic Conference in 2013.
BACK-TO-BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS: UT Arlington finished the 2013 season with 31-27 record and a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title. It was UTA's second consecutive championship (2012 SLC Tournament). McCall (second-team), Shortall (first-team) and Vachon (second-team) earned All-WAC honors last season.
MAVS PICKED FIFTH IN PRESEASON: The Mavericks were picked to finish fifth in their first season in the Sun Belt Conference by league coaches.
PRESEASON PLAYER HONORS: Shortall was named to the 2014 Louisville Slugger preseason All-American third-team, as well as the preseason All-SBC team. Shortall and Vachon also earned preseason All-SBC honors from College Sports Madness.
