Postgame Notes
- UTA improved to 11-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Sun Belt. The Mavericks return to action Monday, January 2 at 7 p.m. (CST) in a Sun Belt Conference contest against Appalachian State.
- Coastal Carolina dropped to 5-9 on the season and 0-1 in the Sun Belt. The Chanticleers return to action on Monday, Jan. 2 at Texas State.
- Coastal Carolina's starting lineup consisted of.guards Colton Ray-St Cyr, Jaylen Shaw and Elijah Wilson, forwards Demario Beck and center Josh Coleman.
- UTA and Coastal Carolina were tied at 35-apiece at the end of the first 20 minutes, marking the first time this season the Mavericks did not hold a halftime lead.
- Six UTA players scored in double-figures, the most for a single game this season.
- Drew Charles went 4-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc against Coastal Carolina. The Azle, Texas native moved into ninth on the UTA career list for 3-point field goals with 135.
- Erick Neal finished with 13 points and 11 assists against Coastal Carolina. The performance marks his third double-double of the season (pts/assists). He also equaled his season high for 3-point field goals with 4.
- Freshman DJ Bryant connected on his first career 3-point field goal with :53 seconds left in the game. He was 0-for-5 going into the game.
- UTA set season highs for 3-point field goals made (15) and attempted (38). Previous highs were 13 makes in 30 attempts against UT-Dallas.
- The victory gave UTA its 10th straight win this season, dating back to a Nov. 18 loss at the University of Arkansas.
- The win also handed UTA its eighth straight home victory in College Park Center, dating back to a 64-61 loss on Feb. 20, 2016 against ULM last season.
