TN: Sun Belt Championship draw released

ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's and women's tennis learned their opponents in the Sun Belt Championship after the draw was released by the league office on Tuesday.
The No. 59-ranked women's team opens play on Friday against Louisiana at 11:30 a.m. The Mavericks earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament, which granted UTA a bye through the first round. The winner will meet one of three teams competing in the lower portion of the bracket that features reigning tournament champion No. 2 South Alabama, ranked No. 46 in the latest ITA/Oracle Collegiate Rankings.
On the men's side, UTA was placed as the fifth seed and will also take on Louisiana. However, the Mavs will play their opening round match at the University of New Orleans' tennis courts on Friday at 3 p.m. Friday's winner will take on No. 1 Georgia State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Women's Matchup:
UTA and Louisiana are facing off for the second time this season. UTA took a 4-0 result in the matchup hosted by the Ragin' Cajuns on March 26. The Mavs are 8-3 all-time against Louisiana and are facing off against one another for the first time in the postseason.
Men's Matchup:
The Mavericks are facing a Sun Belt opponent for the first time this season. UTA is 5-10 against the Ragin' Cajuns and 0-1 in postseason play as the teams last met in the Sun Belt Championship tournament in 2014.
