Postgame Quotes

Opening Comments
"I'm proud of our guys it was a very ugly game, we couldn't really get into a rhythym in the first half. Our second group gave us a ton of energy. Pope was all over the place, Wilson getting those steals and dunks, I think that really energized our guys. That's what was missing in the first half and maybe even the first few minutes of the second half. Once we got that energy we were able to take control of the game. We have to create offense with our defense, I think that's what we got to hang our hat on and when our guys do that we are as good as any team in the league. I'm proud of them and Jones played great today. He bounced on them and I kind of had a feeling he was going to have a great game. He came through and hit some big shots and attacked the basket. He was relentless and I'm very thankful that he played the way he did today."
On playing with a different lineup for much of the game.
"It was awesome, I value those guys as much as anybody on our team. Everybody needs to understand how important each and every guy is. I'm glad they were really able to give us a lift. Without those guys: DJ, Link, Faith, Kaelon, if they don't do what they did tonight then we probably don't win that basketball game. We're going to need those guys down the stretch and that's one thing this team has maybe over some of the other teams."
On Little Rock Changing up defenses.
"They were just changing up their defenses they were playing. They were in a zone and we really haven't seen a 3-2 zone or a lot of time to practice against it. You know in reality, Kevin hasn't been able to practice with us because his knee has been giving him trouble so it makes it hard to really prepare when you don't have all your guys there."
UTA senior guard Jalen Jones
On having a strong scoring output against Little Rock
"It's just a matter of me being aggressive with trying to create second-chance opportunities for my team. I feel like they weren't really boxing out as if it wasn't a main focus for them so I tried to go there in there and take the opportunity for the offensive rebound."
