POSTGAME NOTES

• UTA improves to 10-6 on the season, moves to 1-2 against Sun Belt competition and improves to 6-1 within College Park Center. The Mavericks return to action Saturday, Jan. 6 with a 4:15 p.m. (CST) tipoff against South Alabama (8-7, 2-1 Sun Belt) in College Park Center. UTATIckets.com or (817) 272-9595 for tickets. • Troy drops to 7-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Sun Belt. The Trojans travel to San Marcos, Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. (CST) contest at Texas State (9-7, 2-1 Sun Belt).

• For the 12th time this year and the fourth straight game, UTA's starting lineup consisted of forwards Nathan Hawkins and Kevin Hervey, center Johnny Hamilton and guards Kaelon Wilson and Erick Neal.

• Senior guard Erick Neal scored 21 points against Troy to bring his career total to (1,216), one short of Jermain Griffin for 13th on the program's career scoring chart. Griffin scored 1,218 points from 2004-08). Neal has scored (48) points in his last two games (27 at Appalachian State last weekend).

• Senior guard Kaelon Wilson scored 16 points against Troy to go with a season-high 10 rebounds. He registered his first double-double of the season and the sixth of his career.

• Five different UTA players scored in double figures: Erick Neal (21), Kevin Hervey (19), Kaelon Wilson (16), Johnny Hamilton (11) and Davion Turner (10).
