Red Wolves and Trojans to visit CPC this weekend

UTA Notes | Watch | Live Stats

ARLINGTON
- The Mavericks are at College Park Center for the first time in Sun Belt play when they host Arkansas State on Friday night and Little Rock to conclude the homestand on Saturday.

UT Arlington split its opening weekend in league play during a trip to Louisiana and ULM and returns home with a 7-5 record overall, while being 1-1. It was a milestone weekend for senior Zhanelle Geathers as she became just the 18th member of the Maverick 1,000-kill club. Geathers, entering with exactly 1,000 kills, is 70th among NCAA Division I active career leaders.

The Mavericks bounced back from the league-opening loss to Louisiana with an efficient offensive performance to top ULM on Sunday afternoon. UTA hit .243 in the 3-1 win, led by Madison Hill's .550 hitting percentage on the way to 12 kills. Hill knocked down 23 against the Ragin' Cajuns and has vaulted up to the top spot in the league with a .409 percentage, the closest competitor in one of this week's visitors, Little Rock's Carol Barbosa who is at .347.

With Hill hitting at a high clip, it was three other Mavs that found their names in the double-double charts. UTA had a season-high three individuals reach the achievement against ULM with Alex Janak - securing her sixth, Kylee Kapp and Madelyn St. Germain
