ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTA volleyball team (11-8, 3-4 SBC) hosts South Alabama and Troy in Sun Belt Conference action at College Park Center this weekend.

The Mavs will face the Jaguars on Friday, Oct. 18 (6:30 p.m.) before hosting the Trojans on Saturday night (Oct. 19) at 6:30 p.m.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | SOUTH ALABAMA
- USA enters the weekend with a four-match win streak, and has won 10 of its last 11 matches.
- The Jags have lost just one set during their winning streak.
- South Alabama ranks second in the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.244), and third in opponent hitting percentage (.172). In conference contests, the Jags rank second in kills per set (14.00), third in hitting percentage (.246) and fourth in service aces per set (1.35). 
- Kelley Hartman leads the league in hitting percentage (.399), and ranks eighth in kills per set (3.21). Rachael DeMarcus ranks fourth in assists per set (9.88), while Hannah Harris is tied for eighth in service aces per set (0.35). Ashlyn Roberts, the reigning Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after averaging over five digs per set in three matches last week, ranks sixth in the conference in digs per set (4.25).

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | TROY
- Troy is off to its best start in school history under third-year head coach Josh Lauer. The Trojans' 15 wins are the most in the Lauer era.
- Troy has had four players record double-digit kill numbers in each of its last two matches.
- The Trojans are holding opposing teams to an average hitting percentage of .154 this season, which is the lowest mark in the league and ranks 21st nationally.
- Troy leads the conference in kills per set (13.86) and assists per set (12.83). The Trojans rank 23rd and 25th in the nation in those respective categories.
- Amara Anderson's 11.36 assists per set ranks eighth nationally and leads the Sun Belt. Additionally, the sophomore ranks 17th in the nation in total assists with 727 on the year.

UTA NOTES
- UTA is outhitting the opposition .204-.178.
- Brooke Townsend and Kylie Jedlicka lead the team with 250 and 193 kills, respectively.
- Madison Hill is 32 kills away from 1,000 for her career. She currently has 968 career kills.

BEST START SINCE 2015
UTA's 8-4 start was the best start to a season since 2015. The 8-4 start was also the best start for UTA since head coach J.T. Wenger took over.

SBC PLAY FOR UTA
- UTA has posted a 63-46 record in SBC play since joining the league in 2013.
- The Mavs have won 10+ SBC matches in four of their six season in the league.

UTA Volleyball single-match tickets are now on sale for the 2019 season. Single-match tickets are general admission and are $6 for fans over the age of three, while children two and under get in free.
