ARLINGTON, Texas – In its lone mid-week match of the regular season, the UTA volleyball team (10-6, 2-2 SBC) will open a 5-match homestand against Texas State (11-7, 3-1 SBC) on Tuesday night (Oct. 8). First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | TEXAS STATE
- The Bobcats are 8-2 in their last 10 matches and have swept their opponent in five of their last seven victories.
- Senior outside hitter Cheyenne Huskey's 3.32 kills per set (No. 7 in the Sun Belt) and 0.49 aces per set (No. 4 in the Sun Belt; 31 total) leads the Bobcats. She also adds 2.14 digs per set and has 28 total blocks.
- Sophomore Janell Fitzgerald is second on the team with 2.59 kills per set and has 31 total blocks, while junior middle blocker Tyeranee Scott paces the team in hitting percentage at .324 (No. 5 in the Sun Belt) behind 99 kills and has 54 blocks, including eight solos. Scott's 1.02 blocks per set are tied at No. 2 in the league.
- Sophomore setter Emily DeWalt directs the offense with 9.71 assists set which sits No. 5 in the conference. DeWalt also adds 2.54 digs per set, 37 kills, 20 blocks and 19 aces this year. The Helotes, Texas native has recorded a double-double in each of the first four conference matches.

- Brooke Townsend leads the Mavs with 211 kills. Her 3.70 kills/set ranks her No. 4 in the conference.
- Kylie Jedlicka is second on the squad with 171 kills. The senior is hitting .202 on the season and has recorded six double-doubles on the year.
- Setters Jessica Stancliff and Kylee Kapp run the UTA offense. Stancliff has registered 319 assists (6.13 assists per set) and 85 digs, while Kapp has racked up 263 assists (4.53 assists per set) and 88 digs.
- Libero Madelyn St. Germain leads the Mavericks defense with 249 digs and 4.53 digs per set, which ranks No. 3 in the Sun Belt. She has also recorded 13 aces on the year. 

BEST START SINCE 2015
UTA's 8-4 start was the best start to a season since 2015. The 8-4 start was also the best start for UTA since head coach J.T. Wenger took over.

SBC PLAY FOR UTA
- UTA has posted a 62-44 record in SBC play since joining the league in 2013.
- The Mavs have won 10+ SBC matches in four of their six seasons in the league.

NEW FACES
The Mavs will have eight newcomers (7 freshmen, 1 transfer) on the roster for the 2019 campaign.

UTA's 2019 class, which was given High Honorable Mention honors by PrepVolleyball.com, features Division II transfer sophomore Chase Davis (Azusa Pacific / Homeschool / Keller, Texas) and freshmen Danielle Dion (Plano East / Richardson, Texas), Meredith Fisher (Wichita Falls, Texas / Rider HS), Devon Martinka (Stanwood, Wash. / Stanwood HS), Jessica Stancliff (Carrollton, Texas / Hebron HS); Alli Wells (Waxahachie, Texas / Waxahachie HS), Megan Walsh (Grand Rapids, Minn. / Grand Rapids Senior HS); Gabby White (Lewisville, Texas / Flower Mound HS).

SINGLE-MATCH TICKETS ON SALE
UTA Volleyball single-match tickets are now on sale for the 2019 season. Single-match tickets are general admission and are $6 for fans over the age of three, while children two and under get in free.
