ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington head softball coach
Peejay Brun announced the addition of two new members of the 2020 recruiting class on Friday morning.
Sophie Wideman will transfer to UTA after attending McLennan Community College, while Raegan Edwards will join the Mavericks from Broken Arrow High School.

Sophie Wideman (Woodway, Texas)
Midway High School | McLennan Community College | 5-4 | C
While at MHS, Wideman was a four-time First Team All-District and four-time Super Centex Selection as a catcher. She was also a two-time TSWA All-State selection. Along with her excellence on the field, Wideman excelled in the classroom, earning Academic All-State honors her senior season. While at MCC, Wideman earned first team All-Conference honors her freshman season, batting .371 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI. Her 13 home runs tied the single-season record for homers.

Edwards was named the Most Valuable player for her BAHS team after earning All-District, All-Region and All-State honors. She also competed in the classroom, earning Academic All-Conference honors and being a part of the National Honor Society.
