One of the nation's most successful and award-winning sports radio stations, The Ticket is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As part of The Ticket evening on Thursday, UTA Athletics officials will be recognizing distinguished alumnus Mike Rhyner '81, who co-hosts the Hardline and was responsible for creating The Ticket, and Ticket Assistant Program Coordinator Jason Kellison '18 (attended UTA from 1996-02 before taking a break to work at The Ticket).
After being picked to finish 11th – second-to-last – in the Sun Belt Preseason Poll, UTA sits in a tie for 3rd place at 8-5 with five conference regular-season games remaining. The Mavericks are tied with Georgia Southern, but hold the tiebreaker on the Eagles, and reside just one game behind Georgia State (9-4) and two back of Texas State (10-3); UTA also has the tiebreaker on the Bobcats. The top-2 seeds receive a bye to the Sun Belt Tournament semifinals; seeds 3 and 4 get a bye to the quarterfinals.
Tickets are still available for both games this weekend: Thursday at 7 p.m. against Louisiana and Saturday at 2 p.m. versus ULM by logging on to
