The Lady Mavericks have 19 wins on the season, which puts them in a tie with South Alabama for the most victories by a Sun Belt school this season.

The UTA women's basketball team led for nearly 37 minutes of the game, en route to a 67-62 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday afternoon at the College Park Center.
With the win, UTA improves to 19-6 overall (11-3 SBC) and have now won seven of their last eight games, while Arkansas State falls to 9-15 on the season and 4-9 in conference play.
Cierra Johnson led the Lady Mavs with a game-high 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor, 1-of-2 from behind the arc and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. C. Johnson also added five rebounds and five assists on the afternoon.
Katie Ferrell recorded her second career double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Ferrell also tallied four assists and four steals.
Terryn Milton chipped in with eight points and five dimes, while
Claire Chastain and
Brooke Alexander added seven points each.
Lauren Billie, who sealed the win with a huge trey with 19 seconds remaining, finished with six points
UTA struggled shooting the ball on the day, knocking down just 38.5 percent (25-of-65) of their shots from the floor. The Red Wolves shot the ball at a 40 percent clip and outrebounded the home team (42-34), but were forced into 16 turnovers and limited to just 17.6 percent (3-of-17) on three-point attempts.

Cierra Johnson was named College Sports Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 11. The award marks the third Player of the Week honor for C. Johnson this season (2 College Sports Madness, 1 Sun Belt Conference).

COLLEGEINSIDER.COM MID_MAJOR POLL
The UTA women's basketball team received seven votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 Poll that was released on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
This marks the fourth straight week that the Lady Mavericks have received votes in the Mid-Major Poll. UTA is one of four Sun Belt Conference schools to appear in the Mid-Major Poll along with Little Rock (RV; 17), South Alabama (RV; 12) and Troy (RV; 7).
South Dakota moved into the top spot in the poll with 27 first-place votes and 770 points, while FGCU moved up to the No. 2 position. Gonzaga (697 points), South Dakota State (696 points) and Drake (663 points) rounded out the top-five.
FILL IT UP
The Lady Mavs' 100 points in their 100-73 win at Arkansas State on Jan. 17 are tied for the most points scored by a Sun Belt team in conference play this season. Troy recently scored 100 points (100-89) in their win over Arkansas State on Feb. 9.
