Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – The final match in Florida came down to wire for the UT Arlington men's tennis team (7-4), but a doubles point deficit was too much to overcome as the Mavs fell to the No. 3 Division II team Lynn Fighting Knight, 4-3.

It was a hard-fought doubles competition to begin the afternoon for the Mavs. After
Guanarteme Nuez and
Mauricio Rio fell 6-2 in the No. 1 doubles match,
Miguel Cabrera and
Alejandro Hayen even the score with a 7-5 win in the No. 3 competition.Â
Enrique Pardo and
Eduard Simo were unable to get the final point for the Mavs, falling in the No. 2 spot 7-5 to give the Knights the doubles points.

Lynn pick up another point in the No. 3 singles spot, as Florian Clemares defeated Rio 6-3, 6-4. Nuez gave the Mavs their first point of the day, and brought UTA within one point, winning the No. 2 singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.Â

The Fighting Knight did their best to stay ahead of the Mavs, however, as Robin Calais ended Hayen's six match win streak, winning 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot. The Mavs would rally back to tie the match with three-set wins from
Enrique Pardo and
Eduard Simo. Both players had to rally from a first set loss to win their games.
The match came down to Cabrera in the No. 4 singles competition. After falling in the first set 6-4, Cabrera forced a tiebreaker with a 6-4 second set win. However, he ran out of steam in the final set, falling 6-4 as the Knights held on to the win.
