@UTAMavsTFXC’s Domangue Named Men’s SBC Runner Of The Week

Senior claimed victory at the Gerald Richey Invitational on Saturday

ARLINGTON, Texas – Senior Justin Domangue's second individual victory in as many weeks has earned him the Sun Belt Conference Men's Runner of the Week honors, the league office announced Wednesday. It marks his second career cross country weekly honor courtesy of voting by the conference's head coaches.

On Saturday morning, Domangue was victorious at UTA's Gerald Richey Invitational, winning the 5k race with a time of 14:51.3. He crossed 12 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the 51-runner field.

The native of Alvarado, Texas, has won two consecutive events after claiming North Texas' Ken Garland Invitational the week prior. He now owns three career victories.

Last year, Domangue became the sixth Maverick ever to advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Additionally, he was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection and earned All-South Central Region accolades in 2018.

The Mavericks return to action on Oct. 5 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.
