NEW ORLEANS – Twelve members of the 2019-20 men and women's tennis programs garnered spots on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List and Honor Roll.
"We're truly proud of the effort our student-athletes have put both on the court and in academics," said Head Coach
Diego Benitez. "It speaks a lot for the character of the team and hope to continue this tradition."
The Mavericks had seven members named to the Commissioner's list, which requires a GPA or 3.5 or higher during the 2019-20 fall and spring semesters. An additional five earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll for posting a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.
Every member of the women's team was selected to either the Commissioner's List or the Honor Roll.
Polina Akimova,
Momoka Horiguchi,
Carla Pons and
Nanaka Takeuchi each found their name on the Commissioner's List, while
Almudena Boza,
Liz Chileno,
Aida Garcia Mendez and
Lucia Natal earned spots on the Honor Roll.
On the men's side,
Daichi Akiyoshi,
Solano Caffarena and
Alan Sau Franco garnered spots on the Commissoner's list, while
Angel Diaz was named to the Honor Roll.
