Brun Announces 2021 Recruiting Class

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington softball and head coach Peejay Brun have announced the 2021 recruiting class, consisting of four student-athletes who have signed their National Letters of Intent.

Kaylee Cavazos | SS/2B | 5-4 | San Marcos High School | San Marcos, Texas
Cavazos is a middle infielder from San Marcos High School. The three-time team captain was named All-Central Texas Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-District (SS) and SMHS Offensive and Defensive MVP. She was also the Treasure for Student Council and a member HOSA and Leo's Club. Cavazos played club ball for Texas Bombers Gold Nationals CTX.

Coach Brun on Cavazos…
"I've known Kaylee since she was in the 5th grade and I've watched her grow as an athlete and person.  She plays with the Texas Bombers organization and is an all-around athlete.  She has a smooth glove and great arm at shortstop and with the increased speed and strength that she's been working on I see her coming is and making an immediate impact in our infield.."

Aaliyah White | OF | 5-2 | Angleton High School | Angleton, Texas
White played her high school softball at Angleton High School, where she helped her team to the 2019 State Championship.  She played her club ball for Aces Express and Bombers.

Coach Brun on White…
"Aaliyah is another Texas Bombers player with top notch speed and good instincts in the outfield.  She's a slapper who already has a knack for the short game and has been improving on her power."

Morgan Max | P | 5-6 | Moore High School | Moore, Oklahoma
The Oklahoma product comes to UTA after being named Second Team All-Conference, 6A 1 All-District Pitcher, Large West Region 9 Pitcher and a 2016 State Runner Up at Moore High School. At MHS, Max was a member of National Honor Society.  She played club ball with Gametime Starts 18U Premier-Self and won the 2019 16U USA Gold National Championship.

Coach Brun on Max…
"Morgan is coming to us from Oklahoma.  She was already throwing in the 60s by her freshmen year of high school and has picked up speed along the way.  She comes to us with great control of her mix pitches and her bat on the left side will create opportunities for her to also play first base."

Haley Mountain | OF/SB/SS | The Woodlands High School | The Woodlands, Texas
The outfielder and middle infielder from the Woodlands, Texas was a three-time Academic All-District selection at the Woodlands High School.  Mountain played club ball with Texas Peppers Gold.

Coach Brun on Mountain…
"Haley surprised me with the arm strength, speed, and power in her bat.  She's a loyal player dedicated to her craft and will add depth to the outfield."
