UTA NOTES
- Darin Thomas (1986) and SFA's Head Coach Johnny Cardenas (1989) have ties to their playing days. Both coaches played their Junior College ball at Seward County Community College in Kansas.
- Zac Cook has reached base in all four games to start the season. Phillip Childs has recorded a hit in all three games that he has played in.
- The Mavericks pitching staff has yet to give up a home run. Their last home run given up was in the walk-off loss to Coastal Carolina in the SBC Tournament.
- After a 3-0 weekend to start the season, the Mavericks are receiving votes in the NCBWA poll.
- These will be the first two games ever played between the Mavericks and Cougars. It will also be the first game against any OVC team for UTA.

- Infielder Connor Kiffer is leading the Cougars with a .462 batting average through three games played.
- SIUE is 3-0 on the year with two wins over Nicholls State and one over George Washington.
- The Cougar pitching staff has a 1.33 team ERA. Pitcher Kenny Serwa was named the OVC pitcher of the week after tossing 6.0 innings and striking out nine batters.

- The Lumberjacks are coming off a 13-4 loss at Texas A&M on Tuesday. In their opening weekend, they fell two games to one to fellow Sun Belt team, Arkansas State.
- Jared Martin is hitting .462 on the year and is one of two players with a home runs – the other being Skylar Black.
- The SFA pitching staff has a 5.73 ERA through four games. Jacob Stobart is their lone starter that has yet to give up a run.

The Mavericks will get a grudge match against #23 DBU on Tuesday (Feb. 25) at 6:30 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark.

SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets are available for baseball for $75, while softball is $25. All seating is general admission. Individual tickets for both baseball and softball will $6, except for the March 24 baseball contest against TCU, which will be $10. Children aged two and under, as well as UTA students with an ID, get in to all games for free.
