ARLINGTON, Texas – Four weeks into the season the UT Arlington baseball season was called, but it wasn't without some memorable and monumental moments. The Mavericks finished with a 12-4 record through 16 games – the best start to the season since 2001.
There was plenty of optimism heading into the season as the Mavs returned 84 percent of theirs runs scored and 62 percent of their innings pitched from a season ago, and they certainly did not disappoint.

The Mavericks team ERA was amongst the best in the nation. With a 2.42 ERA, the UTA pitchers ranked 18th in the NCAA in earned run average, despite a schedule that featured seven games against opponents that were ranked or receiving votes. |

UTA was racking up doubles plays this season finishing with 19 as a team. Josh Minjarez and Zac Cook led the way as the seniors finished with 17 and 16 double plays turned, respectively. |

Wyatt Divis proved to be one of the top relivers in the nation with a 0.00 ERA. He finished with zero earned runs in 16 innings pitched and was one of just eight qualifying pitchers in the NCAA to have a 0.00 ERA. |

As a starter David Moffat finished the season as hot as any in the country. The junior went the final 14.1 innings pitched without allowing an earned run. His 0.67 ERA was fourth among all pitchers in the Sun Belt and 25th in the NCAA. Moffat also finished with a 0.63 WHIP, the 14th best in the nation. |

Cesar Gomez was one of the top closers in the country. He recorded a save in one-fourth of the games played by the Mavericks, leading the Sun Belt and finished with the 17th most in the country. |

Two ranked opponents were defeated by the Mavericks on back-to-back Tuesdays. UTA defeated #18 Dallas Baptist at Clay Gould Ballpark before heading to TCU the following weekend to take on the 18th-ranked Horned Frogs in extra innings in Fort Worth. |

Connor Aube was on a 15-game hitting streak to begin the season, dating back to the final game of last year. He recorded at least one hit in every game he played in this season and had a hit in 17 of the last 18 games played. |
