ARLINGTON - The UTA Athletics Department and its Diversity and Inclusion Committee have partnered to design a t-shirt to demonstrate their support of the Black Lives Matter Movement and the peaceful demonstrations that have taken place throughout the United States and the rest of the world in reaction to the killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and countless other Black lives that were taken because of police brutality or racial discrimination.
The Black Lives Matter shirt, which was designed by Assistant Athletic Director for Communications
Michael Hill, is currently for sale online at
UTAGear.com. The shirts are $18.98 for a short sleeve t-shirt and $23.98 for a long sleeve t-shirt. Proceeds will go toward social injustice education/programming for UTA student-athletes and staff.
Additionally, UTA student-athletes will receive one of the department's BLM shirts.
