HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – Junior
Heidrun Hlynsdottir led the UT Arlington women's golf team at the Little Rock Classic with a T-6 finish following a final-round 73 as the Mavericks wrapped up its last fall tournament.
Hlynsdottir had her best outing this fall which came from the Diamante Country Club as the junior posted a 217 54-hole total to tie for 4th-best in program history alongside former UTA player,
Kate Tran.
Prior to the Mavs' final fall tournament, Hlynsdottir's best finish was back at Sam Houston's Bearkat Invitational where she tied for 11th place – this week's T-6 showing is UTA's lone top-10 individual finish so far this year.
As a team, UTA recorded its second top-10 showing this fall with the other one coming from the Bearkat Invitational back in late September where the Mavs also placed 8th.

INSIDE THE SCORES
Hlynsdottir
- Hlynsdottir started her day on hole 5 and recorded an unlucky double on the par-5 7th that set her back +3 before entering the back nine. The junior settled in nicely as she played the remainder of the round in just 1-over with birdies on 15, 17 and 18 – most of the Mavs.
Garber
- Garber opened on the 6th hole and collected four-straight pars but made four bogeys on the back nine resulting in a 40 (+4). The graduate student went on to play the final three holes in +6 after a double on the 3rd hole.
Murray
- Murray made a bogey on the opening 7th and followed it up with four additional bogeys that set her back +5 through the first nine holes. Murray was unable to gain any momentum for the remainder of the round however, she would be able to roll her lone birdie on 16.
Howard
- Howard had a tough opening nine as she played in +5 which featured a trio of bogeys and a double. Unfortunately, Howard was unable to recover but recorded nine pars throughout her round.
Tan
- Tan made back-to-back pars over the first two holes (8-9) before a pair of bogeys and a double put her in +4 heading into 16. From there, Tan was able to lower her scorecard back to 3-over courtesy of a birdie on the par-3 16th but couldn't keep it going as she ultimately settled for an 81.
Ray
- Playing as an individual, Ray shot 86 and could not gain any momentum throughout her round due to several big numbers.
THIS AND THAT
- As a squad, UTA tied for 5th place with a 3.20 par-3 average joined by Wichita State.
- Hlynsdottir tied for 3rd with Missouri State's Kayla Pfitzner and Houston Baptist's Elise Parel as the trio posted a 4.67 par-5 average
- Garber tied for 4th place with 39 pars across the three-day tournament.
