ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team won their second consecutive game, sweeping Lamar 4-0 at the UTA Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks improve to 3-5 on the season with the win.

Solano Caffarena and Nick Beamish put the Mavs up early with a 6-2 win on court two. The Cardinals would even the match with a 7-6 win on court three, but that would be the last point the Cardinals would get. Alan Sau Franco and Alejandro Hayen would bring it home for the Mavericks with a 6-4 win on court one.

Needing just three points to win the match, the Mavericks wasted no time. Hayen won his match at the No. 3 position in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

Angel Diaz won his second straight match, taking court one 6-2, 6-4 to put the Mavericks up 3-0.

Alan Sau Franco ended the match with a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 to give the Mavericks the clean sweep over the Cardinals.
