- Carlos Tavera is coming off a career-game that saw him strike out 12 batters in just 5.0 innings. Since coming back on campus last year, Tavera leads all Mavericks in strikeouts with 44 k's.
- Josh Minjarez is closing in on a couple records for UTA. He is just 4 games shy of 10th most games played in UTA history and 31 shy of the record held by Darrell Preston (230, 2001-2004). He also has the 7th most career at-bats in UTA history.
- The Maverick pitching staff continues to steal the show. With a 2.78 ERA, UTA is 31st in the NCAA and 2nd in the Sun Belt Conference.
- With two triples already on the year, Connor Aube is 4th in the NCAA in triples. He is just one shy of his single-season high.

- The Roadrunners put the ball in play during their opening weekend, finishing with a batting average of .321. That is good for 14th best in the NCAA.
- UTSA played a fairly clean series against Sam Houston to begin the 2021 season. Their .989 fielding percentage is 16th best in the NCAA.
- Nick Thornquist and Joshua Lamb lead the Roadrunners at the plate, batting .462 and .429 respectively. Lamb hit three doubles during opening weekend and four RBI.
- The Mavericks hold a 46-30 overall record against the Roadrunners, but UTSA leads 16-17 in San Antonio. UTA swept the Roadrunners in their series a season ago.
