NORMAN, Okla. - The UT Arlington baseball team will travel to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners on Tuesday, March 9.  This will be the second time in three weeks that the Mavericks and Sooners have faced off against each other, with OU taking the first game 7-1 at Globe Life Park on February 24.

UTA NOTES

• After a slow start to the season, senior Connor Aube has now reached base in 8 straight games. The last time he failed to reach base was on February 24 against the Sooners. His 7-game hitting streak ended on Sunday at UTSA
• The Mavericks return 90 percent of their innings pitched and 95 percent of their strikeouts from a season ago.
• Josh Minjarez is closing in on a couple records for UTA. Today's game will put him in sole possession of the 10th most games played in UTA history and 26 shy of the record held by Darrell Preston (230, 2001-2004). He also has the 6^th most career at-bats in UTA history (714).
• A season ago Boone Montgomery went 0-for-23 at the plate. So far this season the 3rd baseman leads the Mavericks with a .370 batting average and has a home run to his name.
• The Mavericks have struggled at the plate this season, hitting just .218 on the year, down nearly 40 points from a season ago. 

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | OKLAHOMA

• The Sooners are led on offense by Tyler Hardman who is batting a team-high .372 on the season, while also leading the team with 9 runs batted in.
• Conor McKenna has the power in the OU lineup, leading the squad with three home runs on the season. The only other Sooner with a home run is Jimmy Crooks, who has two.
• Relief pitcher Carson Carter has been nearly perfect this season.  He has pitched 12.0 innings in four outings and has yet to allow an earned run.  He has 10 strikeouts to his name versus only two walked batters.
• OU is 5-6 on the season and is coming off a weekend at the Frisco College Baseball Classic where they went 1-4 losing to Arizona twice and Dallas Baptist.  Their lone win of the weekend was a 16-6 throbbing of Mizzou.

SERIES HISTORY
The Mavericks are 12-24 all-time against the Sooners, dating back to 1972.  UTA has won five of their 17 contests played in Norman with their last win coming in 2014 (6-5). That is also the last time the Mavs have defeated OU with the Sooners riding a four-game win streak over UTA.

ON DECK
UTA will return to Arlington to play a four-game series against Lamar beginning Friday, March 12 at Clay Gould Ballpark.
