ARLINGTON – A dozen victories as part of an incredible 25 top-3 finishes on Saturday accentuated the final day of the UT Arlington Invitational for the Mavericks' men's and women's outdoor track and field teams.

In total, UTA team members accounted for 12 1st-place showings, eight 2nd-place performances and five 3rd-place listings as the Mavs registered an astonishing 21 different personal records on the day.

After winning the 5k race to conclude Friday night's action,
Justin Domangue turned right around and picked up another 1st-place finish in the first men's individual race on Saturday with a time of 3:56.41 in the 1500m. UTA occupied the top-2 positions as
Marquentin Barnes finished 2nd (3:57.35) – the first time he ran that distance as a member of the Mavs.

Bryson DeBerry won the long jump as he established a PR of 7.17m (23-06¼) – more than a foot better than his previous best – as he was one of only two competitors in the event to leap better than 23 feet. DeBerry then later on also won the high jump by clearing 2.05m (6-08¾).

Madeleine Rowe picked up a victory in the 1500m with a time of 4:38.08, and
Mathilde Ruud gave the Mavs two of the top-3 positions as her clocking of 4:43.54 was good for 3rd place as she ran the 1500m for the first time as a collegian.

The Mavs finished 1-2 in the 110m hurdles as
Joel Bengtsson used a personal-best run to post a sub-14 second time of 13.99, while teammate
Medric Roberson was right behind with a time of 14.24.

In the women's 400m, UTA secured two more top-3 placements as
Erica Cormier-Jordan won the event (56.21) and
Vanessa Ugorji finished 3rd (57.47). Cormier-Jordan added another top-3 finish later in the afternoon as well when she crossed in 24.13 in the 200m to place 3rd.

UTA secured a 1st- and 3rd-place finish in the triple jump as well when
Marvin Walford set a PR of 14.20m (46-07¼) to win, while
Cameron Davis finished 3rd following a mark of 13.80m (45-03½).

UTA's Other Top-3 Finishes On The Day:
- Competing in the pole vault for the first time in college, Randon Gray shared the top spot with a clearance of 4.87m (15-11¾).
- Connor Butterfield won the 800m in a personal-record time of 1:52.59.
- DaVontay Kennedy claimed the 200m in a time of 21.08 to set a personal best.
- Tanner Henderson won the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:27.36.
- Juleen Lewis finished 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 5.91m (19-04¾); she was the top collegiate performer in the event. She also posted a 2nd-place showing in the triple jump as she carried 11.54m (37-10½).
- Lucas Van Klaveren took nearly four seconds off his previous-best time in the 400m hurdles by registering a 53.40 to finish in 2nd place and as the top college athlete.
- In the high jump, Jade Bontke set a PR with a clearance of 1.65m (5-05) to finish in 2nd place.
- Abigail Kelly-Salo finished 2nd in the pole vault (3.50m; 11-05¾).
- The Mavs clocked another 2nd-place showing in the women's discus when Abigail Flores delivered a throw of 47.06m (154-05).
- Calyha Brown posted a 2nd-place showing in the shot put with a PR throw of 13.82m (45-04½). She was one of three Mav shot putters who established personal bests on Saturday, joining Mia Black (12.39m; 40-07¾) and Tori Ranco (12.29m; 40-04).
- In the men's 4x400m relay, Dominick Yancy, Kennedy, Cedric Williams and Dylan Lowe finished 3rd with a time of 3:18.42.
Among UTA's notable personal bests during Saturday's action:
- Bontke established a PR in the long jump with a mark of 5.64m (18-06) to just miss a top-3 position as she finished 4th.
- Krystal Igbo set a PR in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.35 to finish as UTA's best performer for the day. She also clocked a PR in the 200m with a time of 25.42.
- Ariel Price posted a 100m time of 12.41 to register a PR, and on the men's side in the same event Jordan Watkins did the same (10.96). Price also clocked a PR in the 200m (25.83).
- In the 400m, Williams clocked a PR (50.44).
- Tynecia Singletary set a PR in the 200m (26.12) on the women's side; meanwhile, in the men's 200m Watkins also turned in a personal best (21.81) alongside Medric Roberson (23.33).
- Calyha Brown shattered her previous PR in the discus with a mark of 45.87m (150-06).
NEXT ON THE BLOCKS
The Mavs will remain in the DFW Metroplex and head to Denton to partake in the North Texas Classic next Saturday, Apr. 10.
